We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Fitter available at our processing site in Wagga, NSW. As an Apprentice Fitter, you will be supporting with the maintenance of production systems and machines within the site, this includes Mechanical work, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Welding.
You will be a full-time employee right from the start, earning a wage + super with occasional overtime, penalty rates + other great benefits!
About the Job
Teys Australia is seeking Apprentice Mechanical Fitters to join the maintenance team based at our Wagga Wagga processing site in New South Wales. The role will be responsible for various maintenance repairs both preventative and reactive and you could find yourself doing the following activities:
- Production work/process line maintenance
- Pneumatic maintenance and repair
- Hydraulics maintenance and repair
- Mechanical work
- Welding/Soldering
- Working across various areas in the plant conducting maintenance and repairs including Kill Floor, Boning Room, Render plant, Chillers and other areas as required
- Attending TAFE in week blocks from February 2027
- Operation of equipment and machinery including power tools
The Application Process
- After submitting your application, it will be reviewed by the Wagga Recruitment Officer. If you are successful in the initial screening process they will contact you to discuss your application before organising an interview either onsite or online.
- Once past the interview stage, we will need to conduct both an aptitude and physical assessment which will help us to assess if you are physically fit for the job requirements, at this stage, we will also conduct a drug and alcohol test.
- Finally, we will conduct a Q-Fever vaccination process and you will move on to being inducted into Teys.
- Commencement will be in December 2026 to give you two months of on the job experience before TAFE commences in February 2027
