About the Role
Teys Australia is seeking a Boiler Attendant to join our Maintenance team based at our processing site in Naracoorte, SA 5262.
With safety as our number one priority, this role is ideal for a friendly and motivated Boiler Attendant looking to grow their career with a leading food business.
- Boiler Operation: Operate and control industrial boilers to generate steam and hot water according to production needs. Monitor boiler gauges, meters, and control systems to maintain optimal operating conditions.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to and enforce safety procedures and protocols related to boiler operation. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any potential hazards promptly.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on boilers, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts as needed. Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and carry out preventive maintenance activities.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues with boiler systems to minimize downtime. Collaborate with maintenance personnel to address and resolve technical problems.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of boiler operations, including fuel consumption, water levels, and maintenance activities. Prepare and submit reports as required by regulatory authorities.
- Compliance with Regulations: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing boiler operation. Stay informed about changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies, such as equipment malfunctions or power outages, to minimize disruptions in production.
- Training and Development: Provide training to new Boiler Attendants and other relevant personnel on safe and efficient boiler operation procedures.
About You
It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:
- A boiler certificate is a must.
- Proven experience as a Boiler Attendant, preferably in a meat processing or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of boiler systems, steam generation, and associated equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety protocols.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Physical Requirements: The role may involve standing, walking, and lifting heavy equipment. Boiler Attendants should be physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks associated with the job.
