About the Role

We are seeking an energetic and self- driven Environmental Officer to join our Maintenance team based at our Biloela processing site in Central Queensland. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing environmental services at various levels, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the Environmental Protection License, Trade Waste Agreement and development approvals.

Reporting to our Facility Asset Manager, the position will coordinate a range of activities, including assessing, monitoring and reporting of wastewater, as well as noise, odour and air emissions. You will also lead investigations and collaborate with auditing processes, whilst contributing with continuous improvement and reduction of environmental impacts on site. 

About You

It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:

  • Exposure to wastewater treatment, and other environmental related matters
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Passionate and dedicated work ethic with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a continuous improvement mindset.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualification in environmental science or equivalent
  • Experience in administering an environmental protection program within a manufacturing environment
  • Awareness and/or understanding of QLD Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI)
  • Experience in auditing of environmental performance.
