Gatehouse Security Attendant / Site Security Officer

Position Overview:
We are potentially seeking a vigilant and professional Gatehouse Attendant to be the first line of defence at our secure site. In this critical role, you will be responsible for controlling access, monitoring site activity, and ensuring the safety and security of all personnel and assets. The ideal candidate is observant, reliable, and possesses excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Access Control & Perimeter Security: Serve as the primary point of contact for all site entrants, verifying credentials and managing the issuance of staff, contractor, visitor access and key distribution.
- Proactive Surveillance: Conduct regular internal and external foot and vehicle patrols. Utilize CCTV, alarm systems, and access control software to continuously monitor the site for any vulnerabilities or unauthorized access attempts.
- Incident Response & Reporting: Respond promptly to all security and safety alarms, and any issues raised by staff. Document all activities through detailed daily logs, incident reports, and patrol checklists.
- Traffic & Visitor Management: Efficiently manage the flow of pedestrian and vehicle traffic at site gates. Monitor parking areas and operate intercom systems to facilitate smooth entry and exit.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify, prevent, and report any illegal or inappropriate behaviour that poses a risk to property or personnel. Promptly escalate security breaches to the client and supervisor.
Desirable Requirements:
- A current Security Officer Licence.
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- A current, unrestricted driver's licence.
- Previous experience in a security, gatehouse, concierge, or customer-facing role.
- Proven experience in operating and monitoring CCTV and access control systems.
- Experience in writing detailed incident reports and maintaining accurate logbooks.
- Basic understanding of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) principles.

- Customer Service Focus: A helpful and courteous attitude, understanding that the gatehouse is the first impression of the site.
