About the Role

With a strong commitment to sustainability, innovation, food and animal safety, and community engagement, we are seeking an exceptional leader to join our Executive Leadership Team as General Manager Corporate Affairs.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the corporate narrative of a major national business, driving industry, government, regulatory, sustainability, and stakeholder outcomes across Australia.

Reporting to the CEO, the role will help the business navigate an increasingly complex environment while protecting and enhancing Teys Australia's reputation. This role is based in Brisbane, with some interstate travel required.

Key Responsibilities

In this strategic leadership role, you will:

  • Drive Teys Australia's corporate affairs, communications, public affairs, government relations, and sustainability strategies.
  • Provide strategic counsel to the Executive Leadership Team on emerging issues, risks, opportunities, and stakeholder matters.
  • Build and maintain influential relationships across Federal, State and Local Government, international market access channels, regulatory bodies, industry associations, customers, and community stakeholders.
  • Represent Teys Australia in industry forums and engage with organisations such as AMIC, AMPC, MLA, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead media, reputation management, and crisis communication activities.
  • Provide strategic oversight of sustainability initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Guide Teys' participation in regulatory reviews, policy development, industry research, and market access initiatives.
  • Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and industry leadership across the Corporate Affairs portfolio.

About You

You must have the following experience/skills:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • Extensive experience in corporate affairs, government relations, public affairs, communications, policy, regulatory affairs, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success building relationships and influencing outcomes at all levels – from site and operational teams through to senior government, industry and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Australia's regulatory and political landscape, including Federal and State Government, and international market access processes.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and media management skills.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and driving organisational outcomes through collaboration and influence.
  • The ability to think strategically while responding effectively to emerging issues and changing business priorities.

Industry knowledge is highly regarded, particularly experience in red meat processing, agribusiness, feedlot operations, food safety systems, or other highly regulated export environments.
