About the Role
Teys Australia is seeking an experienced Group Manager New Product Development to join our value-added business unit, Teys Australia Food Solution (TAFS) team based at our Morningside facility in Brisbane. The successful candidate will drive growth and execution of product innovation and value creation, turning strategic product ideas into commercially successful, market‑ready solutions.
This position will oversee the full NPD lifecycle operated by teams based in Morningside and Wagga Wagga, strengthening collaboration across technical, culinary, sourcing, packaging, commercial, and operations functions, and ensuring our processes support consistent, customer-centric innovation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the NPD strategy, pipeline and gate process, ensuring disciplined project management and exceptional customer outcomes.
- Providing expert guidance on meat value‑adding technologies and informing capital and capability planning.
- Embedding a data‑driven, consumer‑insights approach to product development.
- Managing production trials, labelling compliance, sustainability considerations and QA/QC integration.
- Supporting commercial teams with customer presentations and contributing to broader business strategy.
About You
It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:
- Relevant qualification in Food Science
- Extensive experience performing a Senior Product Development position with the capacity to lead and inspire a team of high performing professionals.
- Experience working across a multi-channel product environment with significant exposure to the value-added meat categories.
- Knowledge of Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), food labelling & allergen regulations, State legislation and international requirements
- Demonstrated capability in the development of successful meat-based food products for Australian retail.
- Ability to manage and improve a customer-facing new product development process.
- Proven expertise in strategic business insights and financial acumen.
- Familiarity with applying and creating insights that inform new product design.
- Significant experience in working with Australian major retailers.
