About the Role

We are seeking an organised and proactive HR Officer to join our Human Resources team at our Rockhampton processing site in Central Queensland. This is an afternoon position, working hours will be discussed with the successful candidate to cover most of the afternoon hours.

Reporting to the HR Manager, the role will be the first point of contact for HR related enquiries, providing essential support across the entire employee lifecycle.

This role plays a key part in driving employee engagement and promoting an inclusive culture.

The responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the onboarding process for both local and international employees
  • Assisting with performance management and employee relations matters
  • Conducting exit interviews and ensuring the accurate processing of HR documentation
  • Supporting engagement initiatives, training and HR reporting activities
  • Assisting with HRIS system management and return-to-work processes

You will work closely with the HR Manager to ensure efficient HR operations and contribute to strategic HR initiatives that support business and workforce needs.

About You

It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:

  • Knowledge of contemporary HR practices and ability to use HR knowledge in developing practical solutions to problems
  • Capable of forming collaborative working relationships with staff at all levels
  • Personal qualities of drive, commitment, enthusiasm, and well-developed organisational skills
  • Some knowledge and technical experience in development and effective use of HRIS
  • Advanced computer (MS Word, Excel) and written communication skills

Desirable:

  • 3+ Years’ Experience in HR within a manufacturing environment, food for export ideal
  • Accreditation in:
  • First Aid
  • Workplace Assessing and/or Training
  • Workplace Health and Safety and Rehabilitation or willingness to obtain
  • Relevant Human Resources qualification or willingness to obtain
