About the Role

Teys Australia is seeking an Maintenance Supervisor - Fitter to join the Maintenance team based at our Waggaprocessing site in New South Wales. The role will be responsible for supervising a team of fitters and apprentices , managing repairs, general maintenance, and capital work functions across the processing plant.

Reporting to the Facility Asset Manager, the role will be responsible for driving the mechanical maintenance team coordinating repairs, preventative programs and initiatives aligned with the group strategies. The successful candidate will ensure health and safety practices are being followed and support additional training to eliminate potential risks.

The role will also be responsible for engaging internal and external stakeholders and working with our Environmental Officer to implement and monitor practices to minimise environmental harm.

About You
It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:

  • Trade Qualification with current industry experience. 
  • Experience as a Fitter/Turner in a processing plant environment
  • Proven ability to supervise and coordinate multi-disciplined trade teams
  • Current driver's license. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and technical skills.
Desirable:
  • Direct experience in an export meat processing facility. 
  • Advanced computer literacy skills. 
  • Boiler/Refrigeration accreditation. 
  • Knowledge of and experience in contemporary management of refrigeration, wastewater, steam generation and environmental technology.
