Our Condamine Feedlot is a modern 30,000 head facility located in the Western Darling Downs of Queensland, three hours from Toowoomba. Take to opportunity be part of the 2024 Winner Australian Feedlot of the Year (over 15,000 head category). 

About the Role

We are looking for a Feed Miller / Operator to join our Mill / Feeding team at our Condamine Feedlot.

As a Feed Miller, you will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Feedlot and maintain a high standard and timely delivery of commodities and feeding rations to cattle.

Part of the job will also include:

·  Operation of Steam Flake Milling system

·  Adhere to the guidelines set in consultation with feedlot management for processors such as intake storage, wetting, cooking and milling of grain

·  Ensure grain is milled to the best possible flake

·  Operation of Gas Boiler system

·  Ensure Mill maintenance is completed according to schedule

·  Maintaining Mill area housekeeping; grain spillage etc.

·  Create, maintain and supply reports as and when requested

You will be a multi-skilled individual who has a genuine willingness to learn and interest in mechanical equipment and has good attention to detail while enjoying a variety of tasks and challenges.

It is essential that you have the following: 

• Ability to carry out manual maintenance tasks and operate machinery
• Problem-solving and computer skills
• Ability to follow safe work practices
• Commitment to working in a quality control environment
• Enjoy working in a team, as well as on your own
• Commitment to ensuring animal welfare and husbandry standards are upheld
• Willingness to undertake required training and licensing, such as Boiler Operations, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, and Lock Out Tag Out
• Ability to work a roster system.
