About the Role
Teys Australia Food Solutions (TAFS) delivers customised, multi-protein solutions, unique signature recipes, and menu options that meet ever-evolving business and customer needs. As it enters the next phase of growth, TAFS is seeking an experienced and collaborative Quality Assurance Manager to join our value-added facility at Morningside, Brisbane. This leadership role drives food safety culture through the promotion of best practice, ensuring consistency and compliance across all aspects of food safety regulation, and end-to-end audit processes.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position will supervise Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) activities, including
- Monitoring QA systems and ensuring best practices are implemented and maintained
- Ensuring compliance with all site-accredited food standards.
- Training, developing, and supporting the production team on food safety requirements
- Overseeing product and environmental sampling and testing programs.
- Maintaining and coordinating accurate reports, including audit findings, investigations, and effective corrective actions for non-compliant results
- Applying risk management techniques to mitigate potential hazards.
- Coordinating quality assessments and implementing continuous improvement actions
As part of the site leadership team, this role will also be responsible for ensuring workplace health and safety, operational excellence and promoting environmental best practices.
About You
It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:
- Tertiary qualification in food science/food technology or similar discipline
- Qualifications and working experience in Internal and External Auditing and HACCP Principles & Practices
- Proven experience in a management position monitoring Food Quality Systems
- Working experience in a company working to BRC and WSEP Manufactured Food standards.
- Solid knowledge of all the relevant Australian Standards, FSANZ Food Standards Code, state regulations
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to pro-actively seek out opportunities for improvement
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with exceptional
attention to detail
