About the Role
Teys Australia is seeking a friendly and dedicated Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Officer to join our night shift team based at our production site in Beenleigh, Queensland. The role is responsible for coordinating and efficiently implementing our WH&S system with strong focus on preventive practices.
Reporting to our Workplace Health & Safety Manager, the successful candidate will maintain accurate records of workplace injuries and illnesses, conduct risk assessments, and help identify and mitigate potential hazards.
The role will also provide advisory and directional support to both managers and employees as well as driving safety investigations of potential breaches affecting safety protocols. Additionally, the position will assist in preparing monthly reports and support out return to work and rehabilitation programs.
About You
It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:
- Workplace Health & Safety Officer accreditation in Queensland
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and professional skills
- Advanced computer (MS Word, Excel, Open Office)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Desirable:
- Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs
- Knowledge
of and demonstrated ability to advise on-
- WH&S Legislation and compliance requirements
- WHS management systems
- Workers Compensation (particularly Self-Insurer or Retro Schemes)
- Behavioural Safety practices
- Accreditation
in-
- First Aid
- Workplace Training and Assessing
- Workplace Health and Safety Officer
- Rehabilitation
