Teys Australia Food Solutions is seeking a collaborative and driven Workplace Health & Safety Officer to join our Human Resources team at our value-added facility based at Morningside, Brisbane. This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring Workplace Health & Safety best practices are implemented, maintained and promoted while supporting the broader HR team with training and other HR activities.

Reporting to our HR, Training & Safety Coordinator, the successful candidate will conduct regular site inspections, ensuring safety documentation is current, accurate, and easily accessible to all employees. Other responsibilities include managing safety systems and providing appropriate resources to support the employee life-cycle, including injured workers with rehabilitation and return to work programs.

Additionally, the role will champion a strong safety culture by promoting adequate training, mitigating safety risks, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in the workplace.

About You

It is essential that you have the following experience/skills:

  • Hold current and relevant WHS Qualifications, or willing to obtain similar studies.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organised and Systematic approach.
  • Well-developed human interaction, influencing and coaching skills
  • Computer Literate with advanced MSOffice, I leader, MYOSH, JDE or equivalent.
  • Own transport to be able to support 2 x site, as required.

Desirable:

  • Experience within a Food manufacturing environment.
  • Accreditation in or willing to obtain:
    • Provide First Aid
    • Drug and alcohol testing
    • Rehabilitation and return to work qualification
    • Fire Safety Advisor qualification
